The Short Version

• The calculators are private. Every dimension, gauge, price, or weld figure you type into a MetalReal tool is processed in your browser and never sent to or stored by us.
• No account, no tracking profile.You don’t sign in to use the site, and we don’t build a profile of your browsing.
• You share an email only if you choose to. Contacting us or subscribing to the newsletter is the only time we hold your email address.
• Advertising pays for it. We run Google AdSense, which uses cookies as described below.

Who We Are

MetalReal (“we,” “our,” or “us”) publishes free calculators and educational guides about metal fabrication, welding, sheet metal, and the metals and alloys behind them at metalreal.com. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the site does and does not handle, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the site, wherever you are, and is written with regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA in mind.

What the Tools Do With Your Numbers

This is the part that matters most on a calculator site. Everything you enter into a MetalReal tool — a shape and its dimensions, a metal or gauge, a price per pound, a stock length and kerf, a weld size and length — is used only to compute a result on your own device, in real time. Those inputs are not transmitted to our servers, saved, logged, or linked to you in any way. There is no file upload: you type numbers. When you close the tab, the values are gone.

Information We Do Not Collect

• No user accounts or logins.
• No uploaded files — the tools work from numbers you type.
• No stored calculator inputs or results.
• No cross-session behavioural tracking or advertising profiles built by us.
• No precise location data or device fingerprints.

Information We Do Collect

Email you give us. If you write to us or subscribe to the newsletter, we hold your email address (and, for messages, your name and what you wrote) solely to reply or to send the emails you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we delete contact correspondence once it is no longer needed.

Basic technical logs.Like almost all websites, our hosting keeps standard server logs — browser type, referring page, pages requested, and a truncated IP address — for security and to keep the site running. These are kept only briefly and are not used to identify you.

Cookies and Advertising

The site itself uses only the essential cookies it needs to work. We do not set our own tracking or profiling cookies.

We display advertising through Google AdSense to keep the calculators free. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites. You can review and control how Google personalizes ads at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only where the law requires, to protect the site’s rights and safety, or with the service providers (such as our email and hosting providers) that operate the site under confidentiality obligations.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Object to or restrict how we use it.
• Withdraw consent, for example by unsubscribing.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmitting or storing data online is perfectly secure, but because the tools keep your inputs on your own device, there is very little about you for us to secure in the first place.

Children

MetalReal is intended for a general and trade audience, not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Any changes are posted here with a revised date above.
